Matt Cardle is still writing his first album

Former X Factor winner Matt Cardle is still writing his first album (due out later this year), recording their first record, but he is teased fans about the effect.

"There's some anthemic stuff in there, there's some very upbeat stuff, there's some stripped back soulful stuff in there," shared the When We Collide Singer.

"It's real. For me to get my head together and get in the studio and get my inspiration back on track and start writing the album has been great."

Effects are concerned, Cardle said the songs from "Everything I have ever listened to" are encouraged, including acts like "Michael Jackson, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, Dave Matthews band."

Matt adds to BBC Newsbeat: "The album is due at the end of the summer, it's going really well, it's the kind of tracks I wanted to be writing."

There are rumors that the couple were planning a co-operation is now fueled by Alicia Keys.

Arcade Fire will be awarded at London's Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards

Arcade Fire will be awarded at London's Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards in this year.

The ceremony will held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on July 1, while the band will receive the Hard Rock Ambassadors of Rock Award 2011 at the ceremony.

David Munns, chairman of Nordoff Robbins, said: "Their musicianship is exceptional and their live shows phenomenal, and with their commitment to supporting various charities worldwide makes them a true example of what it means to be an 'ambassador of rock'.''

Other winners include Biffy Clyro, who are set to be named Best British Band along with Annie Lennox, Tinie Tempah and Status Quo.

John Murray from Manchester takes on world rated London rival Kevin Mitchell

John Murray (30-0, 18 KOs) from Manchester on July 9th at London’s ExCeL Arena rival Kevin Mitchell (31-1, 23 KOs) set the world takes you.

Pendulum: “We need to force ourselves to take a break"

Pendulum band have revealed that after this festival season they can to take break.

The band's last album is 'Immersion' was released on 2010, have said to follow up some time.

“We need to force ourselves to take a break. We want to enjoy the festivals but we’re in danger of working too hard,” bassist Gareth McGrillen told the Daily Star.

He added: We don’t want to force the album so I’d say expect it next year. Drum and bass is our last constraint and we’re working to go past it. We’re going to ignore the tempo and work in different time ranges. That way there will be songs that sound a little more dubstep, or rocky.”

The band have been confirmed to perform at Global Gathering and Bestival festival in this year festival season.
